Consultations are by appointment, Walk-ins and electronically through Health Engine. If your problem is urgent please let the reception staff know and they will do their best to accommodate you. Sometimes delays can occur due to emergencies and other circumstances beyond our control but we do our best to minimise your waiting time.

If you are unable to attend your appointment please phone to cancel so that we can offer that appointment to another patient.

Booking System

We book consultations at 15 minute intervals and do our best to keep to these times to prevent inconvenient delays to you.

If you feel that you require a consultation longer than 15 minutes please inform the staff at reception and they will try and accommodate your needs.

When there is an urgent situation e.g. a patient has a heart attack, this will take precedence over booked patients and may create unforeseen delays.

If you are unable to attend your appointment please phone to cancel so that we can offer that appointment to another patient.

Brendale Family Practice is located in heart of brendale in bustling shopping center, Southpine central at 302 southpine road. We have plenty of parking including disabled parking in front of clinic . We have physiotherapist, psychologist and denture services next to us. 

With our convenient online booking service, booking an appointment is easy and can be done at any time. You can book an appointment from our website, Facebook or by downloading the Health Engine App and searching our practice name.

We would be well located for anyone in the areas of Brendale, Bray Park, Strathpine, Aspley, Bridgeman downs, Albany creek, Carseldine, Warner, Lawnton, Bald Hills, Eatons hills, Eaton Park, Taigum, Fitzgibbon, Northlakes and surrounding suburbs.

Fees and Billing

Brendale Family practice is a mixed Bulk-Billing Practice and private practice. All Pensioners with a concession card, Australian Residents with a healthcare card and Medicare card and children, DVA Card are Bulk-Billed. Please ask reception staff regarding fee structure as all procedures may incur a gap.

Personally Controlled Electronic Health (eHealth) Record System

Practice use complaint software for accessing the personally controlled electronic health (ehealth) record system, and creating and posting shared health summaries and when available, event summaries.

Data Records and clinical coding

Practice is working towards recording the majority of diagnoses for active patients electronically, using medical vocabulary that can be mapped against a nationally recognised disease classification or terminology system.

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

You can make a notification about a registered health professional by downloading the Notification’s Form from the AHPRA website –


Prescriptions may be written during a consultation, If you need repeat prescriptions, we ask that you make an appointment to see one of our doctors, where the condition for which the prescriptions are written can be checked.

Prescriptions requested over the counter/phone will be available within 24 hours.

This will only be done for medication previously prescribed by a doctor at this practice and for patients seen within six months. Please ask our reception staff for more information.

Specialist Referral

Referrals to a specialist may be made during the consultation. Standard referrals are valid for one year so please ensure you book an appointment before your referrals runs out.

Practice Accreditation

Brendale Family Practice is under accreditation with AGPAL delivering the highest clinical and administrative standards recognised by our peers.


The Doctor or practice nurse will inform you when your pathology results will be available. It is advisable to book an appointment after that time to discuss those results with your doctor.

After Hours Emergency Care & House Calls

Brendale Family Practice Doctors provide After Hours Emergency Care and House Calls by arrangements to our regular patients. Patients can simply call our normal practice telephone number : (07) 34195417 and they will be diverted to the Doctors Mobile after hours.

Brendale Family Practice is happy to provide House Calls to a patient by prior arrangement and in consultation with the Doctor to arrange a mutually convenient time.

Often it is best to be seen in the surgery as the Doctor has all the equipment and support necessary to provide the best quality of medical care.

Management of your personal Health Information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of your personal Health information at all times and ensure this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Patients of our practice have the right to access their personal Health information under the Privacy Amendment (private sector) Act 2000.

Patients may request in writing for their health records to be transferred to a GP at another practice.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventative care. You will receive reminder notices for health care services appropriate to your care. If you do not want this service please let the doctor know.

Mobile Phones

Please use commonly accepted courtesy and turn off your mobile phone on entering our Medical Centre. If you forget and your mobile phone rings whilst in consultation with the doctor please don’t carry on a conversation.

Hearing or Language Issues?

To help our GP’s ensure they fully understand the nature of their patients’ problem and patient’s fully understand the outcome of the consultation we use an Interpreter service where necessary.
